Simply put – our engineers do not gold-plate any electrical design. We design power and lighting systems to meet the needs of our clients, maintain code and energy requirements, and provide functionality with the simplest design possible.

We provide fire alarm system designs to comply with life safety standards and integrate seamlessly with the other building systems, such as BAS, mass notification systems, and HVAC system shutdowns. We can coordinate devices with an existing system renovation or design a new fire alarm and detection system which includes fire alarm control panel, voice evacuation panel, power supplies, notification appliances, detection devices, and monitor or control modules.

We provide support for every phase of the design and construction process including bidder negotiation, pay requests, submittal reviews, assisting contractors with questions during the bid and construction phase, site visits to observe the progress and quality of work, meetings, and record drawings.

Whether the power system is existing or newly designed, power studies provide information and insight into the specific electrical system to comply with safety standards, improve selectivity, and identify incident energy levels to personnel working on or near the equipment. Using SKM Power Tools software, our engineers are trained to perform short circuit analysis, equipment evaluation, over current protective device coordination, and arc flash risk assessments.

We believe in the philosophy of resource conservation, including not only energy-efficient designs, but also environmentally-friendly designs in keeping with the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED™ objectives. Our firm has LEED™ professionals on staff.

Design coordination between all disciplines minimizes construction issues to keep building schedules on track. Our engineers are trained to design in Autodesk Revit so we can take advantage of all the benefits of BIM including 3-D visualization, clash detection, lighting analysis, building energy performance, and cost estimation.
